It is highly polished and smooth and seems to have the fossilized remainder of a shell on one side.
Another unique quality is that many hag stones have the hole from front to back but this one has the hole going from one side to the other.

Hag Stones can be any type of stone as long as they possess a natural hole through it and if in your possession, should be considered a sacred object.
