Rare whiteJapanese Jewelry Box. This box is very heavy weighing almost 13 lbs.
5 Geisha are featured on this beautiful jewelry box and each is uniquely decorated. Each has been attached to the box's surface.
Brass accents on original and front closure would accommodate a traditional Chinese slide lock. Flip up top and when the 2 front doors are opened 3 pull out doors are revealed. The right portion of the door's accent lifts away from the wood to serve as the drawer pull. Sides have brass ring handles.
The interior of the box is red fabric applied over padding. Please note that the fabric has pulled slightly in one area of the box, see photos.
Measurements: 9 1/2" tall, 14" long and 9" deep.
Excellent preloved condition.
